A Simple Factor in Canonical Quantization Yields Affine Quantization Even for Quantum Gravity

چکیده
Canonical quantization (CQ) is built around [Q, P] = ih1l , while affine (AQ) [Q,D] ihQ, where D ≡ (PQ +QP) / 2 . The basic CQ operators must fit -∞ P, Q P ≠ 0 < ∞ AQ can also be the key to quantum gravity, as our simple outline demonstrates.

Noncanonical Quantization of Gravity. I. Foundations of Affine Quantum Gravity
The nature of the classical canonical phase-space variables for gravity suggests that the associated quantum field operators should obey affine commutation relations rather than canonical commutation relations. Prior to the introduction of constraints, a primary kinematical representation is derived in the form of a reproducing kernel and its associated reproducing kernel Hilbert space. Constra...
متن کاملCanonical quantization of (2+1)-dimensional gravity.
We consider the quantum dynamics of both open and closed two-dimensional universes with \wormholes" and particles. The wave function is given as a sum of freely propagating amplitudes, emitted from a network of mapping class images of the initial state. Interference between these amplitudes gives non-trivial scattering e ects, formally analogous to the optical di raction by a multidimensionalgr...
متن کاملQuantum mechanics, gravity and modified quantization relations.
In this paper, we investigate a possible energy scale dependence of the quantization rules and, in particular, from a phenomenological point of view, an energy scale dependence of an effective [Formula: see text] (reduced Planck's constant). We set a bound on the deviation of the value of [Formula: see text] at the muon scale from its usual value using measurements of the anomalous magnetic mom...
متن کاملOn the Reduced Canonical Quantization of the Induced 2d-gravity
The quantization of the induced 2d-gravity on a compact spatial section is carried out in three different ways. In the three approaches the supermomentum constraint is solved at the classical level but they differ in the way the hamiltonian constraint is imposed. We compare these approaches establishing an isomorphism between the resulting Hilbert spaces. † Work partially supported by the C.I.C...
متن کاملNoncommutative unification of general relativity with quantum mechanics and canonical gravity quantization
The groupoid approach to noncommutative unification of general relativity with quantum mechanics is compared with the canonical gravity quantization. It is shown that by restricting the corresponding noncommutative algebra to its (commutative) subalgebra, which determines the space-time slicing, an algebraic counterpart of superspace (space of 3-metrics) can be obtained. It turns out that when ...
